Yeah, I’ll agree with you that people shouldn’t just blindly follow him because he’s the president.
But… on the other hand, I think a lot of people are the other extreme. I think there’s a lot of people who disagree with him/ dislike him just because he’s a Repulblican. I think if there had been a Dem in the White House when 9/11 happened, regardless of weather or not he handled it differently than Bush did, the backlash would have been a lot different. Maybe that’s not the case everywhere, but here 90% (or more) of the people who dislike Bush dislike him because he’s a Repullicain.
That’s not to say that I think Bush is great, or that he hasn’t done anything running the gauntlet from silly to stupid to out and out wrong, but goram it if people don’t talk about those things – they talk about some damn stupid things.
Also, I think that no matter what the President has or hasn’t done right and/or screwed up, one should still be respectful… something many of today’s stupidliberals (People like my ex-roomate who are liberal because they’re in college or the media or whatever and that’s the cool thing to do, without understanding a goram thing) and editorialists don’t understand – he IS the president, and he prolly knows a lot more about what’s going on than you do. He’s got access to info we just don’t have, and we can’t assume that he’s makign the wrong decision – OR that you (As, oh, someone who writes a letter to the editor of, say, the damn DDN) know what the BEST desicion is. Also, that the best decision is a good decision.
Ok, ranting over. Though, I HAD wanted to bring this to your attention, on a completely unreltated topic:
