Monday night I exercised my rights as a local resident and went to my neighborhood Blockbuster to get a membership and to rent Butterfly Effect. I have to admit that when the movie first came out and I saw the previews, I was not impressed to find Ashton Kutcher in the lead role, but after reading a very positive review from I decided to go rent it.
Further thoughts about how this movie touched me are available to friends (if you’re not on my friend’s list, don’t hesitate to try to get added!).
One final thought about the movie… I’m also a sucker for happy romantic endings, and was really moved back when at the end of the film they walk past each other on a busy Manhattan street, without giving any sort of glance. A very stunning moment, and one that left a lasting impression on me.

Did you mess around with the DVD and come across the “alternative ending” that New Line Cinema decided that they didn’t like? That is a very moving ending… made me cry. (Not like I hadn’t already, haha)

Awww man, I didn’t even think about playing with the extras! It was late when I finished watching it, and I just pretty much went to bed right away. The bummer is that I already took it back to Blockbuster. Maybe I can talk one of my friends into renting it so I can see that alternate ending O:-)

Movie with the best alternate-endings: 28 Days Later.
I LOVED the third alternate ending, with the comentary. “And then… this is where it breaks down. What do you do? Suck out every drop of bood in him and… what? Bleach out every capilary? It really doens’t make any sence. So… we gave up on it. … But here’s some more poorly drawn story boards!”
